The GWO Safety & Training Awards 2021 was full of wonderful stories of the great work training teams do every day. To find out what winning means we talked to Jeremy Faria of Maersk Training Brazil, winners of Training Team of the Year for the Americas, about how entering helps build an internal learning process.
Being a winner at the first ever GWO Awards has had a tremendous impact on our organisation as a whole and at all levels and, moreover, for the individual team that got the win. To be recognised from among so many fantastic and high-level groups has been one of the major highlights for us. To hold the trophy and think back on all the challenges we faced and how we got over them, a reminder that state-of-the art quality within the Health and Safety Training Industry is always achievable and ultimately recognised.
Training Team of the Year aims to shine a light on training teams and instructors delivering GWO standards and creating great quality learning. Last year, twenty-seven awards were handed out by a panel of industry experts who chose the winners in our first ever competition. This year’s judging panel includes John Barrie, Head of Training at Vestas and Chair of GWO Training Committee. For John the reasons to enter are clear:
As a training team you contribute to the safety of the wind industry, at a time when the industry is growing and changing fast. I really hope trainers see these awards as an opportunity to get the recognition that they deserve.
The GWO Safety & Training Awards will be presented at a ceremony on 4th October in Copenhagen.
